A number of shootings and explosions have taken place in the French capital of Paris.
Explosions have been heard outside the Stade de France where France and Germany were playing while stadium announcers told people in the stadium to “avoid the exits due to events outside”, and at least 40 people have been killed in violent attacks in and around the capital.

The death toll is steadily rising as around 100 hostages are being held at Bataclan concert hall. At least three areas have been attacked.
According to BFMTV, one of the gunmen shouted: “It’s for Syria” at Bataclan and Allahu Akbar.

These incidents have taken place in locations very near to the Charlie Hebdo attacks, just 10 months ago.
